Golden Magnet Stand Design Awards

In its 46th year, YAPI - Turkeybuild Istanbul Exhibition rewards its exhibitors who create the most effective visitor experience by using sustainable elements, innovation and technology together in their designs with the Golden Magnet" Best Stand Design Awards" this year.

The fact that the Exhibitor Stands reflect the vision, product and service of their companies in the most effective way brings success by ensuring stronger visitor interaction and, as a result, the creation of commercial collaborations, which is the main purpose of the exhibitions.

With this vision, companies that transform their brands and products into a point of attraction for visitors in stand design will receive the prestigious Golden Magnet Award, a tradition of YAPI Exhibition.


Exhibitions, which are the most effective marketing and market learning activity, are among the expected platforms with high return on investment for sector companies and professionals. In this platform where competition is intense, stand design, which provides physical differentiation and strengthens visibility in the promotion and marketing of products and services, is one of the tools used for companies to make a great impact. Independent jury members consisting of architects, interior architects, civil engineers, industrial designers and graphic designers will visit the corridors during the exhibition and evaluate the participating companies according to the following criteria in a closed session:

❯ Emphasizing the desired qualities of the product in the stand design
❯ Rationality and functionality of design in line with technology and design trends
❯ Organizing the stand as a 3D design object
❯ Aesthetics in the use of visual materials
❯ Modularity and reusability of the stand in different spaces

Golden Magnet Stand Design Awards are organized among the material producer exhibitors with their stands at the YAPI - TURKEYBUILD Exhibition.

The fact that the stand has received an award in the previous YAPI - TURKEYBUILD does not prevent it from being evaluated again.


By adding new categories every year, YAPI Exhibition aims to create awareness among exhibitors, to demonstrate the power of sectoral sensitivity and design-oriented functioning, and to showcase exhibition trends.

Award Ceremony:
An independent jury will make their evaluations on April 17, the first day of the exhibition, and the winning companies will be awarded on April 18. The Award Ceremony will take place on the Turkeybuild Event Stage in Hall 5 of the YAPI - Turkeybuild Istanbul.

I have been a jury member of this competition for several years in a row. Every year, I am delighted to see more and more designs participating in the exhibition. A remarkable design means an eye-catching, remarkable booth that is well positioned throughout the exhibition, containing innovative ideas that explain the product well, while at the same time being a solid carrier of these ideas. There will definitely be booths at this level. I know the interest of companies in this exhibition, and I hope to see booths of this quality again this year.

Exhibitions have been important meeting places of commercial life since the first day they emerged. Today, despite the many new channels and different platforms that have emerged, exhibitions still serve an important function. In addition, Yapi Istanbul is one of the most important exhibitions in Istanbul, leading the sector. For Turkey, exhibitions are one of the most effective areas in terms of country perception, relations in the international arena and as a means of getting a return for the sector, both in Turkey and in the country's target markets. Yapi exhibition provides the opportunity to get new ideas, to realize what kind of cultural values and assets the companies in the industry have, and to see how to transform these values into a product and present them to the market. My expectation from this year's exhibition is to exhibit the right products with the right designs that will shed light from the manufacturer to the end user.

The exhibition booth is like a company's business card. It reflects the product identity and the importance of the company with its size and design. Therefore, it should be as perfect as possible and appeal to all the senses of the visitor. An impressive exhibition booth should be attractive without exaggeration. If the aim is to display the product, the booth design should not overshadow the product. For the consumer, it should be created with the right designs and contents in line with its perception as a kind of activity and education area.

First of all, I would like to thank ITE Turkey and everyone who contributed for bringing us together this year with the Yapi Exhibition, which can be described as the most established exhibition of the construction industry in our country.

A booth must first and foremost be integrated with the story of the brand it represents. Being creative and intriguing is, of course, among all other expectations. I have always had a positive outlook on booths that try the untried, offer visitors a different experience, and innovative brands that support such designs.

As a jury member at the 2019 Golden Magnet Booth Design Awards, I will examine all the booths with an objective approach in line with these criteria that are valuable to me.

"First of all, booths and booth designs have many functions. We would like to see booths that highlight the product, that deliver both the technical, aesthetic and structural elements of the product to the end user or suppliers in the field of bilateral business negotiations (B2B), and that have the ability to communicate the benefits, technology, innovation and design language.

I would like to look at how the booths are presented on a platform that adds a very serious value to the product and brings it together with the final customer and supplier, which is one of the last links of the value chain, apart from the exhibition and presentation in itself; how this language of communication is combined with comfort inside; how much it can deliver the product to the other end; how it solves this network of relationships between the product and the purchaser and the customer within the booth, and how it makes the most ideal optimum solution within the product family and the product family's own performance and presentation-space relationship within that scale, regardless of whether the relationship with the brand is narrow, wide or large-scale booths.

Within all these perspectives, of course, within this functional perspective, it is also necessary to look at how the conceptual language that this booth application combines is associated with the product family, the target markets, the image to be positioned in the customer's mind, the brand promise and the sector. Within all these, this optimum network of relationships and maximum creativity are the measurement criteria for me. I will ask for values within this framework.
