Mesut Avci is an experienced Energy & Resource Efficiency professional and Certified Energy Manager (CEM/AEE) with 11 years respective work experience in the USA and Turkey. He is highly experienced in providing advanced analytic and strategic consulting services to public institutions, International Financial Institutions (IFIs), Energy Service Companies (ESCOs), energy utilities and various Sustainability and Energy/Resource Efficiency organizations. He also has broad experience in conducting industrial Energy & Resource Efficiency assessments to identify and develop potential Energy & Resource Efficiency and Renewable Energy projects. He is also experienced in developing detailed Measurement & Verification (M&V) plans for Energy Efficiency projects to be implemented under Energy Performance Contracts (EPCs).
Mesut currently serves as the Chief Engineer in Stantec for TurSEFF III, the project which supports the development of sustainable resource financing throughout Turkey.
Before joining the Stantec family, Dr. Avci lived in the USA for 10 years where he received his MS and Ph.D. degrees in Industrial Engineering with a focus on Commercial & Industrial Energy Management and Optimization. While in the USA, he also worked for one of the largest Demand-Side Management (DSM) and Demand Response (DR) consulting companies in the US and an Industrial Energy Efficiency Center funded by the US Department of Energy.
