Alper Derinboğaz graduated from Istanbul Technical University in 2005. He then started to work through his Master’s Degree at University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) with a Fulbright Scholarship, and won the UCLA Graduate Award. Apart from his other professional endeavors, Derinboğaz, who founded his own architectural office Salon in 2010, is currently the manager of the architectural design studio at Istanbul Technical University, and takes place in various competitions as a jury member.
In 2011, three applications by Derinboğaz were selected for the Arkiv’s Best Architecture Collection of the Year, and he was granted the Arkitera Young Architect Award. He won many other awards such as the Architizer A+ Award thanks to his work Augmented Structures, where he brought together the new media and architecture. Demirboğaz represented Turkey in 14th Venice Architecture Biennale with his works about the contemporary architectural planning of Istanbul in 2014. Demirboğaz, who won the Green Good Design Award and the International German Design Award last year, is named under the list EUROPE 40 UNDER 40 by the European Architecture Center.
