Alastair Parvin (London) is a designer and civilian entrepreneur. He is also a founding partner of the WikiHouse Foundation and a member of the strategic design group 00. Parvin is known for his work on better housing systems, democratic cities and technologies for all. He writes and talks about strategic design, housing policy, digital revolution, sustainable development and our ability to cope with the most social, environmental and economic challenges of the 21st century.
Parvin suggests that we need design thinking by the help of community. He claims that the economic crisis in today’s architectural environment is being ignored and architects should not develop projects to make rich ones happy but should consider the needs of rest of the society.
Parvin rejects the idea of architecture is just a tool for making buildings, and he claims that democratic production revolution is needed.
Parvin is an architect who prefers to look at architectural criticism from social, economic and even political aspects. His thoughts about socialist architectural model might influence architects, most of which are experienced.
