Cem Keskin

Project manager, Expert Researcher EÇEM

He received his bachelor’s degree in 2008 at Middle East Technical University Department of Physics and his master’s degree in 2013 at Istanbul Technical University Institute of Energy Science and Technology Programme. He is at the dissertation stage of his doctorate at Özyeğin University Department of Mechanical Engineering and works as a project researcher at the Center for Energy, Environment and Economy. During his undergraduate education, he became an expert on measurement systems and attended events on renewable energy. After graduation, he worked as an executive assistant and operation executive in private sector for more than five years. In the same period, he finished his graduate study focused on industrial energy efficiency and developed tools for the adaptation of the 6-Sigma principles to the works of industrial energy efficiency. He started working at Özyeğin University in 2014 and has been continuing his studies of application and research on data collection and processing for energy efficiency in buildings within the scope of the HORIZON2020-TRIBE project for three years. He is also continuing his doctorate studies on the development of cyber-physical systems for establishment of interactive and reduced energy usage areas and increasing of the human-building interaction for energy efficiency in buildings.

05/10/2018 11:00 05/10/2018 12:00 The Social and Behavioural Aspects of Energy Use
Due to the fact that recent active systems increase the means of control and learn the preferences of the people and present them with various comforting facilities thanks to their interactive interfaces and mobile apps, the interaction between these systems and the users has increased immensely. In parallel with this development, works in the field of energy efficiency in buildings focusing on human behaviour have developed in a manner that it will include new aspects such as data analysis, system/product design, ergonomics, comfort and health and are today being constantly referred to as “human-building interaction”. This event will focus on how the innovative system and concepts being developed for human-building interaction shape the behaviour of the user and how it can encourage good behaviour in terms of energy efficiency. *In Cooperation with EÇEM
